There should be male Star Saphires. Making Ralph and Sue Dibny members would've been neat since they already have a strong love each other would've been fun.

In reality, if they made male Star Sapphires, they'd probably just re-color the standard lantern outfit. It'd be pink-purple, but it wouldn't be something like this.

You know, because men can be dressed silly like women. Especially in the nuDCU where everything is straight and whiter and blander than white bread.

And only the women are portrayed like immature adolescent fantasies (Starfire). I remember in the 70's where the creative team for Legion of Superheroes had to guts to give a guy a more revealing outfit because they decided it was about time to try it.

More-or-less.

But, on the subject of male costuming, it's still pretty bad. I mean, it's hard to point out a guy that doesn't have biceps larger than his head. And, if they're lean muscles, they're still over-muscled, like Spiderman. Plus, there's the fact that most men are in skinsuits which, if colored their skin tone, is basically nudity anyways.

Honestly the portrayal of both genders is pretty awful, especially in the big two.

Especially with DC now.

I think that this is a test all comic/serial media/whatever artists should do for new outfits for their female characters. Put it on one of your male characters and if it makes him look like a male stripper, you are doing it wrong.

That being said, he does look mighty good! Also, another vote for Guy here :)
